This week was World Photography Day, and as photography is one of my very favourite hobbies, I always like to mark it in one way or another.
And of course, my very favourite time to take photographs is when I travel. Everything is new: the shapes, the colours, the sights and the smells. Travel just makes you want to click your lens as you pass around every corner, as you stop at every view point and as you see each and every new texture on the horizon. And of course, you want to capture those little moments and remember them forever. Photography is a great way of doing that. Of course, it doesn’t capture each and every sense but it’s keeps a little reminder of what happened then and is something we can look back on in years to come and remember.
My favourite photography moments of this year have been:
Photographing the stunning mountains in Torres del Paine National Park, Patagonia. When I look at these photos, I still can’t believe that this place is real. It just looks too beautiful.Photographing the interesting shapes of Bahá’í Temple, Santiago.Capturing the colours of the most unique and colourful homes in ChiloéPhotographing white on white during a snowy weekend in Cajon del MaipoCapturing Volcano Osorno, Puerto Varas when the clouds cleared to show the viewPhotographing the most beautiful Autumn colours in Conguillo National Park, the colours couldn’t have looked any betterCapturing a stunningly peaceful sunset on the lake in Puerto Varas, the colours were beautifulPhotographing reflections on the stillest of waters in Tamango National ParkPhotographing rugged mountains, glaciers and snow in Cerro Castillo, Patagonia and feeling like I’d never seen anywhere like it!Capturing grey upon grey on a cloudy day Bahía Acantilada
Where have you loved photographing this year?

Happy world photography day ! #wanderful wednesday
Thank you for sharing your photos Marcella. We truely live in a beautiful country.
Your photographs are amazing! I love photographing mountains as well. I think it’s because Houston is so flat so mountains are so different to me!
I totally agree with you that I absolutely love taking pictures because it just has this way of transporting you back to a specific time or place. Even though a picture doesn’t show all of the senses, I think that it can still transport you back to remember a smell or a taste or a feeling. I always love all of your pictures, and it still amazes me how beautiful Chile and South America really is!
Your photos are incredible! Photography has become a new passion of mine (especially while traveling)! I hope my photos come out as nice as yours one day 🙂
I love the colorful houses of Chile. One of my students is studying abroad in Chile right now, and I’m loving seeing it through her eyes. Your sunset pictures, particularly the silhouettes are GORGEOUS.
LOVE the pictures from Patagonia. Can’t wait to go there next year. Thanks so much for the tips & for sharing more travel inspiration!!
Your photographs are stunning, so, it makes sense you are celebrating Photography Week. The landscapes of Chile are perfect to practice! Hope you have more plans for before the end of the year (so you can take more photos). #wanderfulwednesday
Happy World Photo Day! 🙂 you’ve got some great shots to commemorate 🙂
You should make a calendar out of these pictures! I would totally want to have it on my wall – those mountains are just incredible!! I’ve enjoyed photographing a little hidden fjord in Northern Norway this summer, which took us over an hour on a tiny boat to get there but was an absoluty magical place 🙂
You definitely know how to take a gorgeous photo! Your Patagonia shots are breathtaking! And I recognise others from some of your past posts, which I loved.Happy World Photography Day! #wanderfulwednesday
All of these photos are utterly entrancing Marcella!
Wow the photos are amazing! Have you ever thought of submitting your photos to a contest? They are so good! 🙂
You’ve been to so many beautiful places this year already! I’m so amazed looking at your photos. My favorites of yours are Patagonia (of course!) and the colorful houses in Chiloe. As for me, I’d have to say my favorite is photographing the pandas in Chengdu!
