If the World Was a City

Have you ever imagined what it would be like if the world was a city?

You could wake up in Varanasi, India to the birds gliding above you, as the sun slowly rose.DSC_0120Then, wander along the road gazing at the beautiful views of The Amazon, Brazil while looking for a place to eat  breakfast.DSCF4200Perfect!  To start, a star fruit from just two roads away in Manaus, Brazil.DSCF4297Next, it would be time to work up a sweat  with some cycling through the Atacama desert in Chile.  The perfect start to the day!san-pedro-6After admiring the views, you can cool off in some deliciously, clear water in Marseille, France.  After all, it’s so close!DSC_0106After getting dry, it’s good to take a moment of quiet reflection before lunch.  Just head a few streets away to Bodh Gaya in India and soak up the peace and calm and admire the greenery on show.DSC_1186Have you worked up an appetite yet?   Head over to Chitwan, Nepal to indulge in a delicious lunch of daal bhat.  Full of spice and flavour.DSC_0805An after lunch nap?  How about lying back and taking in the view over the vineyards in Lausanne, Switzerland.  Try not to doze for too long!DSC02049After that nap, it’s time to get going again and explore some local street art in Santiago, Chile.  Which is your favourite?DSC06482Quickly head down to Copacabana in Bolivia to see the sunset across the water.  DSCF3750Now, time for dinner.  Head to St.Ives in England for some fresh seafood just caught from the coast.  DSC03407Don’t forget to grab your icy, milky drink from across the road in Siem Reap, Cambodia.DSC_0102And finish it all off with a warming chocolate chai from Dishoom in London, you’ll see this amazing restaurant just across the road.DSC03731Now you are re-fuelled.  Take a quick bus over to the other side of the city to party the night away at Rio Carnival, Brazil.DSCF1287Then, after all of that work tumble into your water home on the canals of London.DSC03333

  1. I totally wrote a blog post like this a loong time ago where I wished the world was one city, the best of everywhere in one place. A piece of home with California beaches, American food, German castles, the Eiffel Tower, London. I ended up deleting it I think 😦 Glad to see that other people out there feel the same way I do! #WednesdayWanderlust

  2. Such a cool post idea! I feel like someday in the future we will be able to almost move this quickly…or maybe we will be able to teleport one day 😉

  3. Wonderful pictures. I used to commission a series in a newspaper where we asked writers to describe their perfect day, waking up in one country and moving across the world as the day progressed. I’d be like you and be sure to have delicious meals in lots of different countries. #WanderfulWednesday

  4. I would love to be able to travel to different parts of the world easily and visit them whenever I wanted! I feel like I’d be able to see and do so much in a short amount of time!

  5. Yum! Those meals are making me hungry. My favourite photo is the one of the Atacama though – it looks unreal! So orange! I’m not a very good cyclist but I think I’d give it a go for those views :0

  6. I like this idea of comparing the world to a city. If only we would be able to move in minutes within our favorite places in the world.

  7. What an wonderfully creative idea! I absolutely love it! It made me want to go through all my travel photos and plan my ideal round-the-world day!
