Adult colouring books are everywhere at the moment, in every book shop, stationary store and all over the internet! And I can totally see why, my mum gave me my first adult colouring book a year and a half ago as a Christmas present (blogged here) and since then I have accumulated more, including a beautiful mandala book, here. I’ve grown to really love them! They are so relaxing to do, something you can pick up whenever you have a spare minute and they are a great quick way to produce something beautiful.
That’s why I was excited to see one based around travel, eeek! Dream Cities by Rosie Goodwin and Alice Chadwick is made up of beautiful illustrations of cities, some real and some imagined. They are lovely, intricate designs with cities from all over the world, and others which only belong in a dream world 😉 So, here is a trip around the world through a colouring book… I’ve photographed some of my favourite, some coloured and some which are waiting to be coloured 🙂London
Amsterdam
Stockholm
An Imagined City
Tokyo
An imagined city
Istanbul
A Tree House
San Francisco
Ice Palace
Mexico
An Underwater City
Sydney
Montreal
Have you tried an adult colouring book? Which of these cities would you love to colour?

I love this kind of thing. Have read about them but not really checked them out. Need to obviously! I want to colour in Istanbul… please!!!
Yes! You really should check them out 🙂 Ohhh, me too; I’m looking forward to colouring Istanbul!
I am going to. I have one daughter in particular who will love it and do that, I am sure, rather than study for university!
I saw this one on amazon, I really want it! 🙂
Ah cool, Amazon have so many nice ones! But I really like this one because it incorporates travel into art too 🙂
Thank you for reminding me that I should take out the colouring book I bought LAST YEAR and actually use it!!! I really love this city one too.. might have to buy another 😉
Definitely! Hope you enjoy it, and I don’t think you can ever have too many of these books 😉
Wow! I have never heard of it! Of course, I just arrived in the U.S. from Asia after 7 3/4 years! A great idea.
Here in the UK they are really popular! Not sure if the idea has gone global yet 😀
I googled them and the coloring books are available on Amazon.com Thanks again for the post!
You’re welcome! Hope you enjoy them 🙂
I’ve been seeing them everywhere lately and I really want to try – though it might look like I’m a colorblind person since I’m the worst at matching colours together!
You should! You can also use a colour wheel to help with matching colours 🙂
I’ve been hearing/reading about adult colouring books for awhile and have been curious about them. Any colouring I’ve been doing in the last 4 years or so has been while preparing for class, so usually I’m stressed and/or short on time maybe if I remove that stress and just colour for fun I’ll enjoy it. Anyway that travel colouring book is too cute not to buy, so it’s off to Book Depository I go lol!
Yay! Enjoy it and let me know what you think 🙂 I love that The Book Depository ships worldwide for free, it’s so useful!!
This is cute! Coloring is so therapeutic. During finals week our library set out a few coloring books and that’s what my friend did as a study break, lol.

What a cool idea, I love the idea of that 😉
So cool – you’re a damn good colourer too!!
Thanks 😉 I guess it’s all the practise I’ve been doing, haha.
OMGGGG SO FUNNNN!!!! How weird!! I’ve been following some artists on Instagram and lately, I really got the urge to do some coloring! This looks like something I want to do so bad right now!! But alas, constant travel in a carry-on does not allow for this. But as soon as I’m settled in Taipei at the end of this year, I’m going to see if I can find some in the local stationary store!
Yay, they are brilliant!! Hope you manage to get one in Taipei, or you can print single sheets of the internet 🙂 That’s cool that you’ll be settling there at the end of the year, I didn’t realise that!
