Blue is definitely one of the colours I think of when I think of travel photography; sparkling blue oceans and bright blue skies. Today I have chosen to share some of my blue travel photos with you.
Blue has been my favourite colour for most of my life, when I was under 8 I had the pink phase, but since then it’s always been blue!
Blue is often associated with a coolness of character and suggests that you are a thinker too. Blue is the favourite colour of more than half Americans and Europeans and is equally favoured by both men and women. In Greece and Turkey, blue is said to ward off the ‘evil eye’.

Other colour posts:
I am going to be creating a ‘multicoloured’ themed post, which I will publish on Thursday 28th May. I would love to make it a collection of lots of blogger’s travel photos, so if you have a photo with a multicoloured theme, please could you email it to me by Wednesday 27th May at: clemandmarcella@gmail.com , with a short caption to tell me where the photo was taken as well as your blog URL so I can then make a link to your blog. It could be anything from a colourful market stall, to traditional colourful outfits to a multicoloured bird. Can’t wait to see your photos and create a post from them 🙂

Thanks Cheryl! I think bright blues are such happy colours 🙂
Blue is my very favourite colour! 😊
Good choice 😉
I love this series of posts! Choosing one color to look for in your photos is probably causing you to look at them in a completely different way! I’ll be sure to send you a picture! Looking for colors is one of my favorite things about traveling! I’m actually working on a ‘Llena la vida de color’ post featuring all of the colorful photos I’ve taken during my travels! 😀
Oh wow, can’t wait to read that post 🙂 Sounds fun! And yes please, I’d love to feature one of your photos on my colourful post!
p.s check back to my last post as I mentioned you about something 😉
Oooh, pretty. Sometimes when I’m uninspired I go outside with a camera and a color in mind and look for that color in the most unlikely of places!
Totally agree – taking photos is an amazing way to feel inspired 🙂
I love these color theme posts of yours! I love seeing where you’ve been. I especially like the Argentina and Switzerland pics.
Blue used to be my favorite color too when I was little, but I’m getting more and more girly as I grow up, hehe. So now my favorite colors are mint, yellow, and pink!
Oh! I’d love to send you a photo too for the upcoming post. I’ll look through my 1000’s of photos. 😀
Yay! Enjoy looking through your photos – I love doing that and reminiscing
We’ve done a swap over then 😉 I also LOVE, love mint… And orange too! Bright colours are the best 🙂
Gorgeous photographs – I love your different posts in your colour series! I think my favourite is the glacier, or maybe the Welsh lake. I already have a photo in mind for the upcoming post so will send it through 🙂
Thanks so much Jessi! And thanks in advance for the photo, can’t wait to see what you’ve chosen 🙂
Stunning, stellar and gorgeous! Thanks for this excellent post. Those blue skies – WOW! And the pic of the London Eye is fabulous. 🙂
Thanks so much for the kind words, Jim 🙂
I love all your color posts! I will have to steal this idea one day! I mean is there anything better than blue skies and blue water?!
Please do, I’d love to see one of yours too! The only thing better is with a mountain view too 😉
Loving all your blue photos! I always found blue to be happy and a cheerful color of emotion. I mean who isn’t happy when you see a very blue ocean and a beautiful blue sky! 🙂
Thanks Yvonne! You’re so right – they are the secrets to happiness 🙂
What a great idea for a blog post! Your photos from around the globe are great!
Thanks so much, Andrea! 🙂
What a fab idea to post photos of the same color! Gorgeous shots! I did not know all that trivia about the color blue, so it was nice to learn them.
Thanks Dee! I always find it interesting to learn about what colours mean too.
Wow, I love the style of this post, how it’s by color! Various places I’ve been to are SO different from each other, but of course colors are universal and connects them all! I may have to steal this idea and do a most like it, and I’ll let you know when I do!
Gah, now I’m curious to go into all my travel photos and organize everything by color! haha! So glad I found your post on Travel Tuesday!
Thanks Sara 🙂 I love looking through old travel photos, and looking at colours makes you see them all differently – can’t wait to see your post 🙂
All such beautiful shades of blue! I must admit blue is one of my favourite colours too. I find it so peaceful and calming – and I definitely get that when I look at the sky and ocean. Such pretty pictures! x
