After arriving in the Valle del Elqui, Chile and heading to a solar powered restaurant, we went to find a place to stay before jumping in the pool to cool down. The following day we explored the valley and discovered that is is just so colourful!
Murals covered so many of the walls, shops and restaurants, and were beautiful and I also managed to find detailed mosaics too. Many of the murals had a mystic vibe to them which fits with the vibes of the valley and I loved the variety of them all.
This beautifully detailed mosaic in Pisco is of Gabriela Mistral; A Chilean poet and Nobel Prize winner. She was born in the area and features in many art works around. As you can tell from the shadows, it was a really sunny day!
Which is your favourite?

Love the artwork all around South America. Great pics.
Thank you! I loved findings all these murals as I hadn’t remembered so many when I visited in 2010!
AMAZING! I am itching to go to South America, for now it will need to wait until we are ‘finished’ with Asia. I just adore all these murals, and the bright colors! Thank you for posting
Thank you!! I’m glad you like the murals, there was colour at every corner! 🙂
Wow, these pieces are all amazing! It makes it hard to choose a favourite. I love the last one, especially because of the story behind it. But I also love that tiled star!
Aren’t they just! I loved the mosaic too and the sun was streaming so much over it, pretty amazing!
So much color; it’s hard to pick a favorite!
🙂
WOW! These are beautiful – I especially love all the bright colors. I think the one with the mosaic sun is my favorite because I love the mixed media contrast!
I thought the mosaic and use of paint/ spray was really clever too!
Stopping by from Travel Tuesday! All those murals are gorgeous! Wow, those colors are stunning 🙂 xo
Hi Jordan! Thanks for passing by. I loved finding all the murals 🙂
Wow, they’re so beautiful and vibrant! I love all of the colors and designs. These must have been so cool to see in person!
They were so beautiful, especially with the gorgeous scenery in the background too!
These are beautiful! It’s hard to pick my favorite, but I love the two that you captured on those little buildings that say “La Vitrina” – so cool!
I loved that one too! It was on the side of a shop 🙂
My favorite?! Hard to choose! They are all so beautiful in their own unique way! I really like the one of the woman ‘sprouting’ out of the tree! It’s like a more detailed, expressive tree of life! Beautiful pictures!
Thanks Lauren 🙂
