Haïti Chérie

Today in WhatAWonderfulWorld, I am happy to share with you the wonderful side of Haiti!

Haiti is often depicted by the press as a very poor and chaotic country. When I landed in Port au Prince, the heat was striking and the ride through the city that followed was very close to that general description. However, once I drove out of the overwhelming capital, I discovered the treasures of the island …

Beaches, fauna and flora, views, people, I was amazed by Haiti, and its hidden qualities:

Haiti Chérie, lyrics of a song,  means “Haiti Darling” and conveys the love of the people for their country.
